ABSTRACT: The impact of early childhood education on sustainability practices was explored to assess how early education influences children's understanding and adoption of sustainable behaviors. The study aimed to evaluate the awareness of sustainability among preschool children, identify educational practices that promote sustainability, and measure the long-term effects of early sustainability education. A survey design was chosen for its effectiveness in collecting extensive data from varied respondents. A purposive sampling technique selected 220 children from preschools in Ogun State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to sustainability-focused curricula demonstrated higher awareness and engagement in sustainable practices, such as recycling and energy conservation. Hands-on activities, such as gardening projects and recycling programs, were particularly effective. The study recommended integrating sustainability education into early childhood curricula to foster environmentally conscious behaviors from a young age.Project Body
